Connie Bentz, 82, Dickinson, died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at her home. Connie’s funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2009 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson with Rev. Steven Tangen officiating. Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Richardton. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Constance J. Olson was born February 22, 1927 at Cartwright, the daughter of John and Constance (Melland) Olson. She was raised and educated in the Cartwright area, and then attended Dickinson State Teachers College where she received a two year teaching certificate. Connie taught in rural schools in the Cartwright and Richardton areas for a period of time.

Connie was united married to August “Gust” Bentz on September 8, 1949 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Richardton. They made their home on the family ranch north of Richardton until the early 1960’s when they moved their family into Dickinson. Connie’s husband Gust died on June 1, 1987.

She enjoyed doing Brazilian embroidery, working in her garden, and also growing a variety of flowers.

Connie is survived by her three sons, Jeff (Mona) Bentz, Tulsa, Okla., Curtis Bentz, Dickinson, and Dellas (Julie) Bentz, Dickinson; three grandchildren, Trisha (Charlie) Kendall, Doug Bentz, and Dayton Bentz; and four brothers, John Olson, Vancouver, Wash., Ole (Myrna) Olson, Sidney, Mont., Roy (Lois) Olson, Sidney, and Clarence Olson, Frenchtown, Mont. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and two brothers, Lawrence and Joe.
