Curt C. Fuchs, a beloved father, brother, and husband, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the age of 67 in Sanford Hospital, Bismarck. A Celebration of Life Service for Curtis will be at 10 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2024 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Pastor Tyler Doohen officiating.
Born on May 26, 1957, in Dickinson, Curt lived a life ingrained with dedication, hard work, and passion.
Curt was a graduate of Dickinson High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and began laying the foundation for a fulfilling career. He was the cherished son of Walter and Leone Fuchs and a loving brother to Tim and Cathe Fuchs, Peggy and Marty Piekos, Ron Fuchs, and Clark Fuchs and Karen Lewis.
For over 40 years, Curt made significant contributions to the oil and gas industry, bringing his expertise and commitment to his work. He spent 30 of those years at Hess Corporation, where he began his career as an operator and transitioned into management, earning respect and admiration from his colleagues for his leadership and dedication.
Curt’s love for the outdoors was evident in his favorite pastimes – fishing, gardening, and hunting. He had a remarkable green thumb, growing bountiful gardens that he canned salsa, pickles, beans, and made his famous hometown mustard. Leisure activities such as playing pool and darts brought him joy and good times with friends and family.
A great cook, Curt found great joy in preparing meals that brought his loved ones together, creating cherished memories around the dinner table. His warmth, generosity, and zest for life were evident in every dish he prepared and every garden he tended.
Curt was a devoted husband to Joanna for 30 wonderful years. He treasured his family above all. He took immense pride in his children, Matthew, Kayla (married to Shane Weber), and Aaron, and was filled with love for his grandchildren, Flint, Ella, Liam, and Jordan. Curt is also survived by his siblings, Peggy (Marty) Piekos, Londonary, NH and Clark (Karen Lewis) Fuchs, Bismarck; and sister-in-law, Cathe Fuchs, Grafton, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Leone Fuchs; brothers, Tim Fuchs and Ron Fuchs. Curt’s legacy of hard work, kindness, and family values continues to inspire his loved ones.
Although Curt’s earthly journey has concluded, his spirit will eternally reside in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His presence will forever be felt fishing the big water of Lake Sakakawea.
