Dale J. Kostelecky, 67, Mandan, died Friday, December 19, 2014 in Dickinson. Dale’s Liturgy of the Word Service Outside of Mass will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Fr. Todd Kreitinger officiating. Entombment will take place at the Dickinson Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service. There will be a memorial service at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 26, 2014 at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.

Dale J. Kostelecky was born November 25, 1947 in Dickinson, the son of Charles Louis and Martha Ann (Jablonsky) Kostelecky. He was raised and educated in Dickinson graduating from Central High, now Dickinson High School.

He married Carol Ann Lanz September 2, 1967, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mandan. To this union two children Scott Joseph, and Tonee Ann were born.
Following their marriage they moved to Dickinson, where he went to work for Tavis Candy Company.  They relocated to Williston in the Spring of 1969 and worked for Creighton Beer Company. Moved to Mandan 1972 started working for Mandan Plumbing and Heating and was employed there until his retirement 2000.  He lived in SW Mandan. He was involved in Custer’s 7th Calvary re-enactment for several years, during this time he briefly appeared with fellow officers in the documentary Red Sunday. He loved riding horses, marksmanship and being outdoors with this organization.

Dale was a lifetime member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, as well as a member of Pheasants Forever, National Rifleman’s Association, Knights of Columbus, Elks Club, and Czech Heritage. He enjoyed Big Game Hunting and has many trophy mounts to his accomplishment, he enjoyed ND fishing, and halibut and salmon fishing in Alaska. He took a fishing trip of his lifetime to Alaska in the mid 1990’s, Dale loved camping/fishing with his family and never missed a nice weekend by the lake. He also loved to take an afternoon trip to a local casino to try his luck at the one arm bandits.

Dale is survived by his two children, Scott (Sandra) Kostelecky, Decatur, Texas, and Tonee (Joey) VanderVliet, Mandan; three granddaughters, Satasha Kostelecky, Sienna Kostelecky, and Sydnee VanderVliet; his mother, Martha Kostelecky, Dickinson; his brother, Gary R. (Phyllis) Kostelecky, Dickinson; and one sister, Denise (Terry) Wattie, Katy, Texas. He preceded in death by his father, Charles L. Kostelecky,
