Dale Allan Sickler was born April 23, 1953 at Dickinson, the son of Tony and Tillie (Mischel) Sickler. He was raised on the family farm north of Dickinson in Dunn County. He received his elementary education at the country school house a mile from their home, and then went on to graduate from Dickinson High School. Dale then attended Dickinson State College where he enrolled in the general education courses.
With encouragement from his father to help on the family farm, he then realized farming was his calling. He farmed for the next 20 years. Dale always held on to the dream that one day he would make a significant contribution to the music world. He loved being involved in out door activities, vacationing in the Badlands, and playing Pinochle. He was a poker league member in Dickinson, and had qualified for the Las Vegas playoffs in 2013. Dale had made this trip in a borrowed corvette, playing “Bad Company” all the way.
Dale will be greatly missed by his wife, Sharon; their son, D’antae; their daughters, Layesha, Shawntaya, and LaTrisha; grandson, Brayden; sisters, Arlie, Marie, Cindy, Adzie (Jim) Barstow, and Marla (Dennis) Svihl; brothers, Arnie, Rod, David, Ray (Angie), and Alfred (Mary); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Donnie, Jerry, and Duane.
