On August 23, 2018 Daniel “Danny” Christ Olheiser a much beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend was suddenly taken from us at the age of 66. Daniel’s Liturgy of Word Service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Dallas Carlson presiding. Interment will follow at St. Pius Cemetery, Schefield. Visitation will be Monday, 4 p.m.to 6 p.m. and will continue one hour prior to services. There will be a vigil at 6 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

He was born December 4, 1951 to Ralph and Irene (Reisenauer) Olheiser in Dickinson. Dan was the fourth oldest of 12 children.

Dan attended school in Dickinson, and was self-educated in mechanics and wood working. He followed in his dads footsteps by learning construction, concrete work and heavy equipment operator. Dan worked for his dad in the family business, Olheiser and Sons Construction. After his dad retired, Dan and his brothers continued with the business. After Olheiser and Sons Construction desolved, Dan continued to work doing a variety of construction jobs.

On May 11, 1973 Dan married Linda Diede, and they had nine children: Christy, Tina, Cory, Kelly, Eric, Scott, Karry, Darren and Amanda.

Dan had a passion for working with his hands and enjoyed many hours creating wood pieces from dressers and tables to picture frames and shelves. He was always excited to be able to share his creations with his kids, neighbors and friends who were all as equally excited to receive them. The piece he created that was always near and dear to his heart was the wood headstones he had made for his parent’s grave sites. He took pride in every piece he made.

In 2009 Dan had a major stroke, that was a drastic life changing event. The stroke took away his ability to walk and use of his left hand. He then moved to The Baptist Home in Bismarck, where he lived for the remainder of his life. Dan loved his family, and lit up with joy any time his grandbabies came into the room. He had a great personality and always had a comment that would make you laugh in any conversation. Most people who had the chance to get to know Dan will have at least one story to tell about how his sense of humor brightened their day.

Dan was very loved by many people and will be greatly missed forever. The good memories he left behind will always be cherished in the hearts of those who cared for him. His children, Christy (Tim) Walker, Paducah, Ky., Tina (Greg) Binstock, South Heart, Cory (Catrina) Olheiser, Kelly (Renee) Olheiser, Eric (Kayla) Olheiser all of Dickinson, Scott (Julie) Olheiser, Bismarck, Karry (Dustin) Rebout, Dickinson, Darren Olheiser, Mandan, and Amanda (Timmy) Wilson, Dickinson; 17 grandchildren; his siblings, Linda (Raymond) Morrell, Ralph (MaryJane) Olheiser, Alice (Chuck) Urlacher, Darrel (Theresa) Olheiser, Char (Fred) Pilot, George Olheiser, Irene Polly, Eugene (Mary) Olheiser, and Raymond (Leah) Olheiser; and numerous nieces and nephews.
