David Anton Haas, 73, Dickinson, died Sunday, November 6, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius, Dickinson. Dave’s Liturgy of Word Service will be at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Ron Wolberg presiding. Inurnment will follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Military flag presentation will be provided by the Dickinson American Legion Post 3 Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Wednesday with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Dave was born to Joe and Eva (Staat) Haas on July, 6, 1943 in Lefor. He grew up near Lefor and graduated from Lefor High School. After high school he enlisted in the army and was stationed in Germany. Dave then returned to North Dakota where he met and married Agnes Dahmus on September 21, 1965. They have three children, Colette, Carmel and Jared.
Dave and Agnes farmed his dad’s land for 5 years and then moved to Dickinson where he worked construction for several years. Dave then worked for the City of Dickinson retiring after 29 years.
Dave was an accomplished carpenter and made furniture and wood crafts for family and friends. He loved to travel and took many bus trips around the U.S. He loved to visit and chat with friends.
Dave is survived by his wife Agnes; daughter Colette and Boyd Garman, granddaughter Mikayla of Fargo, daughter Carmel and Pat Sipes, grandchildren Matthew, Eric and Kiana of Bozeman, son Jared of Dickinson. He is also survived by brothers Herman (Luella), Bismarck, Vernon (Connie) Penn.; sisters Irene Krebs, Wash., Marlene (George) Kolling, Bismarck, and Lorraine (Gordy) Schiff, Mont. Dave was preceded death by his parents, two brothers, Frank and Johnny and brother-in-law Leonard Krebs.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Amen Food Pantry, Dickinson.
