David Fugere, 66, Dickinson, died on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Sanford Health, Bismarck. David’s Liturgy of Word Service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2025 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Deacon Ron Keller presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
David W. Fugere was born February 1, 1958, in Waukesha, WI, the son of Delton and Janet (Malarchick) Fugere. He was raised and educated in Dickinson, where he attended St. Joseph’s Grade School and graduated from Trinity High School in 1976. David went on and graduated from the Heavy Equipment Program at Dickinson State College.
David was united in marriage to Cindy Kostelecky on March 28, 1991, in Dickinson. He went to work in the oilfield until injuries sustained in an accident caused him to go on disability. It was at this time that he became a stay-at-home dad.
He loved fishing, history, outdoor sports (especially frisbee golf), and cherished spending time with his dogs.
David is survived by his wife, Cindy; daughters, Kayla Abbey and Chantel (Ryan) Schaefer; grandchildren, Conner Dotson, Savannah Dotson, and Brooklyn Igou; his mother, Janet Fugere; sister, Cindy (Mike) Terrill; nieces and nephew, Christine Schafer, Kimberly Terrill, Tiffany Terrill, and Dustin (Amanda) Terrill. He was preceded in death by his father, Delton.
