David R. Huncovsky, 77, Dickinson, died on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. David’s Liturgy of Word Service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding. Military Honors will be provided by the Dickinson American Legion Post 3 Honor Guard. Inurnment will take place the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

David Huncovsky was born January 17, 1947 at Dickinson, the son of Donald R. and Josephine (Deffert) Huncovsky. He was raised and educated in Dickinson where he graduated from Trinity High School’s first graduating Class of 1965. Following high school, he moved to San Diego, Calif. to attend college and work towards an electronics degree. He was soon drafted into the Marine Corps and served honorably from April 11, 1966 until March 11, 1970. During his service time he spent 11 months in Vietnam.

He returned to Dickinson where he worked at various jobs in electronics until he began a 15-year career with Consolidated, retiring in 2014. David was united in marriage to Camey Holbrook on August 22, 1978 in Dickinson.

David was a member of the Eagles Club, VFW, and the American Legion. He enjoyed computers, designing 3D Printing projects, music, playing guitar, and traveling to New York every summer to see the grandkids.

David is survived by his wife, Camey; son, Michael (Mary Ellen) Swanson, Lewiston, NY; grandchildren, Katie Swanson, Megan Swanson, Hailey Swanson, and Dreyden Huncovsky; great-grandchildren, Gino and Maya Zarcone; siblings, Terry Huncovsky, Dickinson, Norma Tescher, Dickinson, Donna (Bob) Yauger, Portland, Ore., and Carol (Toby) Oster, Oakes; sister-in-law, Joanna (Kurt) Fuchs, Dickinson; and brother-in-law, Ken Mosbrucker, Dickinson.

He was preceded in death by sons, Kelly Swanson in January of 2016, and David Jay “DJ” Huncovsky in January of 2010; his parents; sister, Peggy Mosbrucker; brothers, Maury Huncovsky, and Arlan Huncovsky; and brother-in-law, Tim Tescher.
