Dean M. Wright, 81, Belfield, died Sunday, July 1, 2012 at his home. Dean’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 5, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Medora, with Fr. Dan Berg as the celebrant. Interment will follow at the Medora Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Belfield American Legion, William C. Blair Post #144. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Dean Martin Wright was born January 19, 1931 at Kansas City, Mo., the son of Richard and Cecele Wright. He was raised and educated in Kansas City. He had served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1960.

Dean married Mary Ray on November 1, 1958. They lived in France while he was stationed there, and upon his discharge they lived in Medora. In 1966 they moved to St. Paul, Minn. and resided there until 2004. Dean and Mary returned to North Dakota and have made their home in Belfield.

Dean is survived by three daughters, Julie (Joe) Gebhart, St. Paul, Minn., Patty Peterson, Maplewood, Minn., and Linda Wright, Shoreview, Minn.; three grandchildren, Maggie Peterson, Michael Gebhart, and Rebecca Gebhart; and one sister, Alma Wright, Kansas City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary on June 25, 2012; son, Michael; parents; and brothers, Robert and Richard.

The family would like to thank St. Joseph’s Hospital Dialysis Unit and Heartland Hospice. Memorial are preferred to the Ronald McDonald’s House Charities.
