Delmar P. Robertson, 70, Dickinson, formerly of New England died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. A memorial service for Delmar will be at 2 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2009 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Pastor Tim Voth officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon, S.D. in the spring. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Delmar Phillip Robertson was born on March 27, 1938. He was the son of William Phillip Robertson and Selma Oliva (Undersager) Robertson. Delmar retired as an Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 with twenty four years of service. He was the Chief of Police in New England North Dakota before moving to Dickinson where he resided with his wife Marie Robertson. During retirement he enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, his cat Max, feeding the birds, and yard work. He enjoyed bringing his good humor to everyone and always had a way of shedding light on situations that weren’t always good. He enjoyed visiting St. Luke’s Home where his mother-in-law Vangie Streitz resides along with many other friends. He was a member of the VFW, Eagles and the American Legion.

Delmar is survived by his wife Marie Robertson; two daughters Bonnie (Paul) Diamond and Brenda (Shaun) Sandoval; two sons, Dale (Norma) Robertson and David (Kim) Robertson; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, William (Donna) Robertson and Archie (Carol) Goodrich.

Delmar is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gerald Robertson; and one sister, Bonnie Robertson. He will be greatly missed.
