Delmar was born August 28, 1956 to Tony and Aggie (Mosbrucker) Meier. Delmar was raised on the family farm north of Burt. He graduated from Mott High School in 1975. Delmar attended NDSS in Wahpeton with a certificate in welding. He started at General Steel/Fisher Industries in Dickinson on October 7, 1976.

On June 28, 1980, Delmar married Joan Krebs at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New England. Delmar and Joan resided in Dickinson.

Delmar and Joan were blessed with three beautiful daughters (Charity, Nicole and Sarah), Joan always said the boys will come. Charity and her husband Justin have two boys, Hudson (9) and Hunter (6). Nicole and her husband Jordan have three children, Otto (4), Oliver (2), and Nora (9 months)- yes the only girl. Sarah has one son, Camden (6).

Delmar was a very active and hands on papa. The boys love spending time with their papa and all the “fun” motorized toys he allows them to play with. Nora loves her silly papa who talks and plays on the floor with her.

Delmar worked at General Steel Fisher Industries for 45 years. He more recently had been involved building multiple obstacles for Muddy 4 a Cause. Delmar has always been busy helping others, if you called needing help he was sure to come. It always was said that everyone needed a Delmar.

Delmar is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joan; three daughters, Charity (Justin) Rogstad, Nicole (Jordan) Frank and Sarah Meier; six grandchildren, Hudson and Hunter Rogstad, Camden Meier, Otto, Oliver and Nora Frank; his siblings, Fred (Dee) Meier, Rod (Ida) Meier, Ed (Denise) Meier, Carol (Greg) Klein and Dale (Brenda) Meier; in-laws, Linda Candrian, Wayne (Rose) Krebs, Jim (Pauly) Krebs, Leonard (Kristi) Krebs, Deb (Mike) Franchuk and Leann (Wayne) Buchholz; and multiple nieces and nephews.
