Delores B. Frieze, 88, formerly of Mott, died on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Richardton Health Center, with family by her side. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Delores at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Justin Waltz as celebrant. Interment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Leonard Krebs presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church.

Delores Betty Helfrich was born August 3, 1935 in Bentley, the daughter of Arthur and Anna (Lindemann) Helfrich. She was raised and educated in the Bentley area.

Delores was united in marriage to Mike Frieze, Jr. on October 13, 1954. She was employed as a CNA at the Mott Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Following her retirement, she worked part-time with her husband managing the Pheasant Manor Apartments. On June 2, 2023 she became a resident of the Richardton Health Center.

She belonged to St. Vincent’s Catholic Church Women’s Auxiliary. Delores enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing games, drinking coffee, visiting, crocheting, gardening, canning, and loved traveling to casinos. She was known for being an excellent cook and baker, always having baked goods ready for visitors. She loved to listen to polka music.

Delores is survived by her children, Linda Frieze, Regent, LeeRoy Frieze, Valley City, Randy (Patty) Frieze, Albany, OR, Kyle (Stacy) Frieze, Dickinson, Scott (Nancy) Frieze, Mandan, LuAnn (Todd) Berger, Dickinson, and Gloria (Kerry) Ulmer, Elgin; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mathew Helfrich, Billings, MT, Harvey (Katherine) Helfrich, Gillette, WY, Vince (Ella) Helfrich, Dickinson, Kenneth (Vicki) Helfrich, Lincoln, Mary Ann (Harry) Wiedmer, Tioga, and Louis Helfrich, Dickinson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Mike, on March 24, 2022; infant children, Peter and Peggy; her parents; step-mother, Magdalena; and siblings, Arthur, Anton, Gary, Clara Messmer, Betty Herner, and Patty Helfrich.
