Dennis was born on October 14, 1954 in Lemmon, S.D. to Michael and Gladys (Uhler) Greff. He graduated from Mott Lincoln High School in 1972. After graduation, his carefree spirit led him to hitchhike to the West Coast and travel down to the Gulf of Mexico where he worked on a shrimp boat. In 1977, he married Sharon (Thomas) Greff and they welcomed four beautiful daughters into the world: Jessica (1977), Andrea (1980), Ashley (1982) and Jenna (1988).
During his years in Mott, Dennis enjoyed golfing, being involved with his kids’ sports and music, and taking care of his lawn. Being a jack of all trades, Dennis worked as a painter, maintenance worker, convenience store cashier and most notably, a manufacturer at TMI. He was never afraid to try something new and some of his hobbies included sailboating, inventing, and bargain hunting. Dennis truly lived his life to the fullest. He was known for his uniqueness, strong sense of humor, and memorable personality that always stood out in a crowd. Everyone could agree that Dennis could make anyone smile and laugh.
In later years, Dennis relocated to the Fargo area to be closer to his family. He spent endless hours with his daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. Whether it was annual Valleyfair trips, Greffmas, birthday parties or “Trainwreck” holiday weekends, he rarely missed an opportunity to spend time with those he loved. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
Dennis is survived by his mother, Gladys; siblings, Leo (Patty), Michael (LeeAnn), David (Sue), Paulette (Terry), Brenda (Joe), Donna (Perry), Pandy (Morris), and Cindy (Eddie); his four daughters: Jessica (David) Fargo, Andrea (Kollee), New Prague, Minn., Ashley (Mark), West Fargo, and Jenna (Elliot) West Fargo; and his twelve grandchildren: Kaden, Isaac, Nathan, Anna, Elisha, Adrian, Will, Nolan, Simon, Jane, Beatrice, and Hazel. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael; his brothers, Daniel and Paul; and other loved ones.
