Dennis Lynch, 66, Dickinson, died Friday, July 31, 2015 at his home with his family at his side. Dennis’ Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Todd Kreitinger as the celebrant. Interment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan on Tuesday at 12 p.m. MT. Military honors will follow the Mass with the Dickinson Honors Team providing honors. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Jerry Volk presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Dennis T. Lynch was born May 13, 1949 at Dickinson, the son of Clarence and Genevieve (Skalsky) Lynch. He was raised and educated in Dickinson, attending St. Patrick’s Grade School and graduating from Trinity High School in 1967.

Dennis served honorably in the United States Army from November 29, 1968 to August 31, 1970. While in Vietnam he was with Company C, 1st Battalion, Airmobile, 7th Cavalry, serving with distinction. He returned to Dickinson and on June 4, 1973 he began a life together with the love of his life, Carol M. Decker.

He learned to work at a young age, first at the family business, Lynch’s Grocery, then at Tavis Candy Company, Elder Care and Kadrmas, Lee and Jackson, where he retired from in May 2011. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and golfing, and loved being a caregiver.

Dennis is survived by his spouse, Carol; four siblings, Eileen (Larry) Weigum, San Antonio, Texas, Donna (Tom) Kessel, Pelican Rapids, Minn., Al (Nancy) Lynch, Dickinson, and Michael (Julie) Lynch, Jamestown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Neal and Todd; sister, Kathy Markman; and nephews, Ryan Lynch and Scott Jablonsky.
