Dianne Jane Duttenhefer, 67, Dodge, was taken by the Lord into Heaven on Sunday, April 26, 2020, after a short battle of stage 4 lung cancer and brain cancer. Mass of Christian Burial for Dianne will be 10 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2020 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Halliday with Fr. Joseph Evinger as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Dianne, daughter of Wilbert and Elsie (Sayler) Ulmer, was born June 13, 1952 in Dickinson. Dianne attended Dickinson Public School. Dianne married Eugene Duttenhefer, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Hellman) Duttenhefer, on September 8, 1972. Together they lived in Dickinson until 1977, two years in Wahpeton while Eugene graduated from college in 1979 and finally moving to Dodge where they still call home.

Dianne loved planting flowers and gardening, putting jigsaw puzzles together, playing cards and loved to bake and was a great cook. She took pride when it came to teaching her grandkids how to bake and teaching them different card games. Dianne was a very caring women and was willing to help anyone and any animal in need.

Dianne was involved with her childrens fund raisers, like rolling her famous fleischkuechle, and baking her pies and cookies. Dianne was a part of the sunshine club since it began and was a park member for the city of Dodge the last eight years.

Dianne is survived by her husband of 47 years, Eugene; three children, Brad (Mindy) Duttenhefer, Dodge, Doreen Duttenhefer, Mandan; Duane (Suzi) Duttenhefer, Mandan; eight grandchildren, Alex (Abby), Kyrah, Briahna, Katie, Jalyn, Jamaika, Taelee, and Jelani; one great-granddaughter, Alivia; three brothers, Dennis (Barb), Randy (Ardis) and Gayle Ulmer, all of Dickinson; three sisters, Donna (Jere) Detwiler, Scottsdale, Ariz., Audrey Cherney, Bismarck, and Tammy Ulmer, Tower City; sister-in-law, Lorraine Ulmer: brother-in-law, Ken Rykowski.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Elsie Ulmer; her mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Elizabeth Duttenhefer; four brothers, Ronald, Gerald, Lyle and Michael; two sisters, Connie and Raynae.

She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, mother-in-law, and a friend to all. You will be missed dearly.
