Don Loffelmacher, 88, Dickinson, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Don’s funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Dickinson United Methodist Church, Dickinson with Rev. Dick Rinearson officiating. Interment will take place at the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, S.D. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Military honors will be provided by the Dickinson Honors Team.

Don Loffelmacher was born June 18, 1926 on the family farm north of Belfield to Paul and Bernice (Denham) Loffelmacher. Don attended school in Fryburg. Don entered the US Army were he served honorably from December 1944 until November 1946. Following his honorable discharge, Don returned to the Belfield area where he bought his own farm. Don married Virginia Noyce on February 15, 1957 at the Dickinson United Methodist Church. Don then sold his farm north of Belfield and bought a farm near New Hradec where he and his family lived until moving to Dickinson.

Don is survived by his wife, Virginia, Dickinson; five children, Cameron, Dickinson, Harold (Lonna), Rapid City, S.D., Harlan (Joyce), Spokane, Wash., Michelle, Rapid City, and Cheryl (Jim) Erickson, New England; three brothers, Reid, Lowell, and Larry; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Roswell and one sister, Helen Jacobson.
