Donna L. Gulka, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 27th, 2022 at the age of 70. She was surrounded by her loving family, who will forever cherish the memories they created together throughout her remarkable life. Donna’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 8th, 2023 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Shea as celebrant. Flowers may be sent to Ladbury Funeral Service in her name.
Born on May, 23 1952, Donna was the daughter of Charles Delaney and Patricia (Pulver) Burgess. She grew up in a large family of (4) four sisters (Vicki, Barb, Gayle, Marla) and a brother (Charles) that helped to provide a strong sense of family values and a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. Donna’s compassionate nature and infectious perseverance endeared her to everyone she met.
In July of 1974, Donna married the love of her life, Terry Gulka, at the Gulka family home in Dickinson, ND. Their union was blessed with love, laughter, and a son, Enrique. Donna poured her heart and soul into being a devoted wife and mother, nurturing her family with unwavering love and support. She created a home filled with warmth and joy, where countless memories were made.
Donna’s unwavering commitment to her family extended beyond her immediate household. She adored her role as a grandmother, delighting in the presence of her grandchildren: Aliana and Elara. She relished every opportunity to shower them with affection and share in their triumphs and milestones. Donna’s love and guidance will forever be etched in their hearts. In addition to her dedication to family and friends, Donna was an active member of her community. Together with Terry they owned Four Season Powersports that served the local community with recreational equipment for over 30 years. This led to many volunteer opportunities at local charities where she was always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her altruistic spirit and generosity of heart were an inspiration to all, embodying the true essence of compassion and selflessness.
Donna L. Gulka leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength as she battled and won her fight against cancer a remarkable (3) three times. She will be dearly missed by her loving son, Enrique Gulka, his spouse Amara, their children: Aliana and Elara, her sisters, extended family, and friends.
