Dorothea “Dot” Di Nunzio, 96, formerly of Dickinson, died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Hill Top Home of Comfort, Killdeer. Dot’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 5, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Killdeer, with Fr. Darnis Selvanayakam, MSFX as the celebrant. Entombment will take place at the Dickinson Mausoleum at a later date. Visitation will be on Monday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., at Hill Top Home of Comfort. There will also be visitation on Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with rosary & prayers at 4 p.m., with Deacon Kris Ringwall presiding.

Dorothea Rinaldi was born October 18, 1919 in Providence, R.I., the daughter of Leonard and Marie (Togneri) Rinaldi, eldest of three children. Dot attended Edgewood Secretarial School upon completion of high school. For 15 years she was employed as Secretary to the Business Dean at Bryant College in North Providence, R.I.

Dot was united in marriage at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, in Providence, to Louis Di Nunzio on April 19, 1941, to this union a daughter, Joyce, was born in 1943. They moved to a new home in Barrington, R.I., in 1953, where they resided until retiring. Dot and Louis sold their home and tool and die manufacturing business, L.D. Joyce Company, in 1982 and moved to Dickinson to be near their daughter and family. Louis died in 2008, and Dot lived at the Evergreen assisted living facility and then Hill Top Home of Comfort, where she was a joy to the residents and staff until her death.

Dot is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Allan T.) Thompson, Dickinson; grandchildren, Scott (Jen) Thompson, Hammond, Wis., Holly (Ken) Heyda, Plymouth, Minn., and Julie (Cody) Reis, Fairfield; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
