Dorothy A. Rhoads, 67, Belfield, died at home on Friday, March 17, 2017 surrounded by family. Dorothy’s funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2017 at Belfield Lutheran Church, Belfield, with Rev . Roger Dieterle officiating. Interment will take place at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hurdsfield. Visitation will be on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Visitation will continue on Friday one hour prior to services at the church.
Dorothy A. Cotton was born February 20, 1950 at Defuniak Springs, Fla., the daughter of John and Louise (Lolley) Cotton. They moved to Epping in 1953 where she was raised and receiving her education at Tioga. Following graduation from Tioga High School she attended Williston State College.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Luther Rhoads on March 16, 1973 at Williston. They moved to Belfield in 1976 where they have resided since. She worked at Trapper’s Kettle from 1982 to 2016.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and baking, and collecting angels and Betty Boop items. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by five children, Loren (Linda) Rhoads, Williston, Kelly Rhoads, Williston, Michael Rhoads, Belfield, Charlene (Richard Davis) Wandler, Belfield, and Jerry (fiancé-Cassandra Lashley) Rhoads, Belfield; 13 grandchildren, Dacury (James) Kramer, Jordan Rhoads, James Rhoads, Joshua Rhoads, Lakota Rhoads, Dylan Wandler, Alexandra Wandler, Melissa Rhoads, Christina Rhoads, Noah Rhoads, Seth Rhoads, Isaiah Rhoads, and Alexzander Rhoads; two great-grandchildren, Jayden and Grayson Kramer; siblings, John (Carolyn) Cotton, Rupert, Idaho, Diane Schiele, Hibbing, Minn., Kent (Verna) Cotton, Nashua, Mont., and Kathy (Kevin) Nulph, Williston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther on April 22, 2016; her parents; siblings, Bernard Cotton, Rose Cotton, Joe Cotton, Frank Cotton and Barbara Cotton; and two nephews, Bryce and Brian Cotton.
