Dorothy Barth, 81, Taylor, died Thursday, April 30, 2020 at the McKenzie County HealthCare, Watford City. There will be private Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton with Fr. Thomas Wordekemper, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Dorothy Gaab was born April 20, 1939 in Richardton, the daughter of Anton and Florentine (Zentner) Gaab. She was raised and educated in Richardton, having graduated from St. Mary’s High School.
Dorothy was united in marriage to George Barth on April 10, 1961 in Richardton. They made their home in Taylor where she spent a 40 year career working in Healthcare in Richardton.
She enjoyed playing softball, going bowling, playing cards, baking, spending time at the lake, but especially spending time with her grandchildren. She belonged to the St. Mary’s Guild and enjoyed working with them.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Jarmin (Denise) Barth, Dickinson and Audrey (Lance) Keator, Dickinson; grandchildren, Tyler (Noel) Barth, Brandi (Pat) Kallenbach, Kelsey (Chris) Kovash, and Kennedy Keator; great-grandchildren, Hayden Barth, Camden Barth, Laiken Fleck, Paxton Kallenbach, Macklynn Kovash and Addilynn Kovash; sisters, Eleanor Messmer, Betty (Leo) Aman, Charlotte (Herb) Martin, and Eileen Messer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, on June 16, 1999; her parents; and brothers-in-law, Ralph Messmer, and Norman Messer. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
