Dorothy Dassinger, 84, Dickinson, died Monday, January 19, 2015 at the St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Dorothy’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Todd Kreitinger as the celebrant, and assisted by Deacon Ron Keller. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Ron Keller presiding.

Dorothy Chalupnik was born February 5, 1930 in Dickinson, the daughter of Joe and Mary (Kubas) Chalupnik. She was raised and educated in Dickinson.

Dorothy was united in marriage to John Dassinger, Jr. on July 17, 1960 in Dickinson. They resided in Dickinson where she worked for many years at Magie’s Café, and also at a laundry mat. Her love for children led her to daycare for young children until her retirement.

In her spare time she loved to work in the garden with John, to go dancing, and listen to old time music.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Albert Dassinger, Dickinson; her sister, Mary Wells, Sheridan, Wyo.; sisters-in-law, Delores Reisenauer, Bismarck, and Alice Olheiser, Dickinson; brothers-in-law, Charles Dassinger, South Heart and Harlen Heinle, Dickinson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, John on August 19, 2008; her parents; brother Albert (Emma) Chalupnik; sister, Emma (Edward) Dvorak; and in-laws, Fran Wells, Alvina Heinle, Tony Olheiser, and Walter Reisenauer.
