Dorothy Mary Petri, 86, Belfield, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. There will be a private Liturgy of Word Service at Ladbury Funeral Service, with Fr. Shane Campbell presiding.

Dorothy Mary Buzalsky was born on May 25, 1934 in Bowman to John and Mildred (Nadvornik) Buzalsky. She was sister to Gordon Buzalsky who preceded her in death on April 25, 2020. She went to school in Amidon and graduated from the eighth grade. She went on to nurses training without going to high school. She became an LPN and worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital for years while driving 50 miles one way to work. Later on she was the receptionist at New England Clinic, retiring due to health issues. Dorothy was also a census taker for a few years, helped with the senior citizens and was a Catholic Daughter. She was an avid reader until her eyes went bad.

Dorothy married Robert Petri on March 30, 1960 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. They had their 60th anniversary this year, but were unable to have a celebration due to Covid-19.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Petri; daughter, Rebecca (Tracy) Kadrmas, Frenchtown, Mont.; son, Robert (Michelle) Petri Jr., New England; six grandchildren, Derik (Lindsey) Kadrmas, Heather Kadrmas, Devin Kadrmas, Gabriell Petri, Mason Petri, and Caydon Petri; and great-granddaughter, Fynn Petri.
