Dorothy Nodland, Dickinson, formerly of Werner, died Friday, February 18, 2011 at the St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Dorothy’s funeral service will be Monday, February 21, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Rev. Chris Lenning officiating interment will follow at Vang Lutheran Cemetery, Dunn Center. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time Monday.
Dorothy Dahlen was born June 24, 1925 to Martin and Ella (Heckt) Dahlen at Werner where she received her education. Dorothy married Bernard Nodland at Killdeer on May 6, 1946. They bought a farm five miles south of Werner in 1946 and she lived there until moving to Hilltop Home of Comfort, Killdeer then to Evergreen and finally to the St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Dorothy was a member of Vang Lutheran Church
Dorothy is survived by two sons, Donald (Norma) and Ronald (Michele); one granddaughter, Jennifer (Chris) Lenning and five grandsons, Kurt (Lynnette) , Richard (T.J.) , Mike (Erin), Dustin, and Triston.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard in 1983, four brothers, Carl Dahlen, Maynard Dahlen, Albert Dahlen, and Walter Dahlen, and three sisters, Ester Klee, Bertina Mead, and Mabel Robinson. Arrangements are with Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. www.ladburyfuneralservice.com.
