Douglas A. Adams, 66, Hebron, formerly of Dickinson, died Monday, September 1, 2014 at Marian Manor, Glen Ullin. Doug’s memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Living Word Fellowship, Dickinson, with Pastor Tim Voth officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday. Military honors will follow the service and be provide by the Dickinson Honors Team.
Douglas Alan Adams was born October 1, 1947, at Portland, Ore., the son of Irvin and Helen (Reich) Adams. He was raised and educated in Portland. Following high school he served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Doug married Dee Stellwagon in 1963, at Vancouver, Wash. He worked has an auto mechanic throughout his life. Doug was united in marriage to Dianna (Haymaker) Freier on August 29, 1987 at Othello, Wash. They lived in Montana and Alaska prior to moving to Dickinson in 2007, and recently to Hebron.
When possible, Doug enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, and riding motorcycle.
Doug is survived by his wife, Dianna, Hebron; daughter, Janelle (Chris) Lathrop, Vancouver, Wash.; step-children, Rick (Kristen) Freier, Spokane, Wash., Lori (Mike) Powers, Spokane, Wash., and Ed Freier, Hebron; 11 grandchildren; two siblings, Linda (Joe) Ricks, Portland, Ore., and Alan (Judy) Adams, Pendleton, Ore. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Paul.
