Dr. Frank E. Hartwig, 61, of Dickinson, ND and Denver, Colo., succumbed to his illness and died in peace with family by his side Sunday, June 29, 2008 in Denver. Frank’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2008 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Todd Kreitinger as the celebrant and Deacon Ron Keller assisting. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson with military honors provided by the Veterans Drill Team. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday at Ladbury Funeral Service with a vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Ron Keller presiding.
Frank was born September 9, 1946 in Dickinson, ND to Art and Ann (Sigl) Hartwig.
Frank lived his life as an officer in the US Army as a Lt. Colonel, practicing pharmacy and medicine as a doctor and anesthesiologist, the father to four wonderful children, and most recently as a loving husband to his dear wife, Louanne of 12 years.
Frank is survived by his wife Louanne Hartwig of Dickinson; his four sons Corey Hartwig of Ridgecrest, CA, Ronald Hartwig and his wife Amy of Cedar Rapids, IA, Joshua Hartwig of Denver, CO, and Luke Hartwig of Boulder, CO. Frank also leaves behind four loving and caring grandchildren, Ryan, Vivian, Samuel, and Theodore.
