Duane Fraase, 67, Gilbert, Ariz., died Monday, January 8, 2018 at CHI St. Alexius Bismarck. Duane’s Liturgy of Word Service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2018 at Ladbury Funeral Service, with Fr. Todd Kreitinger presiding. Interment will follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan with Military Honors provided by the Bismarck VFW Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service. Visitation will continue from 8 a.m. to service time on Friday.

Duane Victor Fraase was born December 20, 1950 in Dickinson, son of Victor and Ethel (Winter) Fraase. He was raised and educated in Mott, having graduated from Mott High School in 1968.

He served honorably in the United States Army from April 16, 1970 to December 13, 1971. Upon his discharge, he attended college in Boulder, Colo. Receiving a degree in Computer Technology. He worked and loved being in the computer business throughout his life. For a period of time he also took care of the family bee business. Following his retirement a year ago, he purchased a RV and traveled.

He enjoyed cooking, working with photography, fishing and hunting, and even while in high school he belonged to a band called “The Remains”. He found great enjoyment spending time with his nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. When the family would visit him he loved to take them on Segway tours. He loved to take things apart, and his dad would always remind him, “when you take something apart, put it back together”.

Duane is survived by his mother, Ethel, Dickinson; four sisters, Dianne (Jim) Witte, Edgerton, Wis., Beverly (Willy) Polensky, Dickinson, Colleen Spears, Dickinson, and Collette (Adrian) Fraase-Simon, Phoenix, Ariz.; nieces and nephews, George Fraase, Eric (Erika) Chapman, Darren Witte, Shawn Witte, Aaron Polensky, and Amanda (Andy) Mott; and great-nieces and nephews, Zackary, Katelyn and Kelsey Chapman, and Lucian DeMott.

He is preceded in death by his father, Victor; and his brother, Curtis.
