Duane H. “Andy” Anderson, 80, Dickinson, died Monday, December 4, 2017 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Duane’s Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Ladbury Funeral Service with Pastor Lisa Lewton officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until service time at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Duane H. Anderson was born October 31, 1937 in Richardton, son of Hartvik and Jennie (Reems) Anderson. He was raised and educated in Halliday and attended Dickinson State College.

Duane was united in marriage to Joanne Jorgenson on October 8, 1960 in Fargo. He worked at Sax Motors, the North Dakota Highway Department, and was a patrolman with the Dickinson Police Department prior to beginning his career at Liberty National Bank and Trust. He began in the Insurance and Ag Loan Department, eventually becoming the president and CEO of Liberty National, retiring in 1990.

He belonged to the SW Bankers Group, North Dakota Housing Agency, North Dakota Bankers Association, Elks Lodge, North Dakota Independent Bankers, Dickinson Chamber of Commerce, Blue Hawk Boosters and DSU Alumni Association.

In his spare time he enjoyed water sports, camping, hunting, fishing, traveling, cycle rides and old car collections.

Andy is survived by his wife, Joanne; their two children, Barry (April) Anderson, Champlin, Minn. and Shelly (Dana) Sorensen, Rapid City, S.D.; and two sisters, Carol (Hilmer) Huber, Stillwater, Minn., and Beverly Reno, Florence, Ky. He was preceded in death by his parents.
