Edward Duletsky, 92, Belfield, died on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Richardton Health Center, Richardton. Ed’s Parastas will be at 10 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Belfield with Fr. Stepan Ivanchyk as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Belfield. Visitation will be on Sunday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a Rosary & Panakhyda at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Parastas at the church.

Ed was born June 6, 1932 to Elias and Mary Elizabeth (Paluck) Duletsky in Belfield. They lived on several farms until moving to the outskirts of Belfield in 1945. Ed graduated from Belfield High School in 1950 and attended Dickinson State College for one year. After that he worked on a seismograph crew, for the railroad, and on various farms. In 1955 he got a job as a teacher in rural Dunn County for only two children and two years later taught in a trailer house school also in Dunn County. He later taught at other schools in Billings and Stark counties. During summers he worked for the ASCS office. He graduated from Dickinson State University in 1960 and then farmed and cared for his parents in their later years.

Ed was involved in many organizations including the Roughrider Home Growers Market, the Dakota Resource Council, community action programs distributing food to the poor, and care of the St. Stanislaus Cemetery. He taught catechism and sang in the St. John the Baptist church choir. Ed was very active in his local Knights of Columbus council 6310 serving in multiple leadership roles. He was chairman of the youth committee working with essay, poster, and free throw contests. He supported many charities including Guatemalan refugees in Campeshe, Mexico, Maryknoll missions, Food for the Poor, and Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos Orphanage in Mexico.

Ed is survived by an aunt Betty Kropilnicki, Waupaca, WI; cousins Joseph Hlebichuk, Jr., Surprise, AZ; Joanne Gray, Salem, OR; Leonard Makowski, Belfield; Frances Gawryluk, Dickinson; Dorothy Heiser, Bozeman, MT; Maxine Michels, Tucson, AZ; Betty Burkhart, Frenchtown, MT; Richard Michels, Bismarck; Dave Kropilnicki, Waupaca, WI; Joan Kropilnicki, Appleton, WI; Jean Peterson, Appleton, WI; Rita Kropilnicki, Clovis, NM; Chuck Krop, Brevard, NC; and numerous cousins from the Duletsky family.
