Edward (Ed) Frank March 3, 1936 - January 30, 2024

Date of Funeral

Thursday, February 8, 2024

Edward “Ed” Frank, 87, Lincoln, formerly of Dickinson, died Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Edward’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Msgr. Thomas Richter as the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Pius Cemetery, Schefield. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Ross Reiter presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass on Thursday.

Ed was born on March 3, 1936, the eldest son of Frank S. and Rose (Hegel) Frank. He was raised on a farm and received his education at St. Mary’s in New England. On April 7, 1959, Ed married Margaret Sticka at St. Pius Church in Schefield and together they raised four children; Darrell, Lynette, Cheryl and Stacy “Fritz”.

He worked for several creameries as a route salesman in his early years and eventually became self employed as a tax preparer until his retirement in 2005. Due to health reasons, Ed and Marge moved to Lincoln in November 2011.

He loved gardening and you could give him a pile of rocks and he would be able to grow a garden in it. He had quite a “green thumb”. When he wasn’t tending to his garden or flowers, especially the petunia’s, his favorite, he was playing cards at various clubs and the senior center. In his younger years, he loved playing softball.

Ed is survived by his wife, Margaret; children: Darrell (Dee), Lynette (Randy) Dillinger, Cheryl Krieg, Dickinson and Stacy “Fritz” (Lisa) Minot; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren (soon to be 11); one step-grandson; two step-great-grandchildren; siblings: Aaron, Dickinson, Wilbert, Hettinger, and Josephine Wosepka, Vancouver, WA; sister-in-law, Karen Frank, New England; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Frank S. and Rose; great-granddaughter, Mya Harper Gentilini; brothers, Albert, Ernie, and David; sister-in-law, Lucy Frank; and brother-in-law, Harold Wosepka.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a charity of your choice.
