Edward “Skip” Williams, 78, Richardton, died on Monday, May 13, 2019 at CHI St. Alexius Dickinson. Skip’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m., Thursday, May 16, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton with Fr. Thomas Wordekemper, OSB as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Richardton American Legion Theo R. Zech Post 180. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Edward “Skip” Williams was born February 20, 1941 in Richmond, New York, the son of Fred and Jean (MacIntier) Williams. At a young age the family moved to Milwaukee, Wis., where he was raised, educated and graduated from high school. Following two years of college, Skip joined the United States Marine Corps and served honorably from January 11, 1961 until September 13, 1966.
Upon his discharge he returned to Wisconsin and he worked various jobs and throughout various locations, and while in Sturgis, S.D. he met Lynda Ferderer. Skip married Lynda on February 4, 1983 in Belle Fourche S.D. In 1985 they moved to Richardton and he completed his certification as a tax accountant. He worked part time in tax preparation while also working full time as manager of Cheers and Beers.
He was a member of VFW in Sturgis.
Skip is survived by his wife, Lynda, Richardton; daughters, Elizabeth Williams, Cantonment, Fla. and Heather Williams, Menomonee Falls, Wis.; step-sons, Troy Metzger, Steinheim, Germany and Tod Metzger, Dothan Ala.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Fred and Bert; and sisters, Margaret and Jean Marie.
