Eddie was born May 30, 1932 on the family farm north of New Hradec, son of Jerry and Rose (Adamski) Kostelecky. Growing up he attended school in New Hradec, attended one year of boarding school in Illinois, then he attended Central High and Model High in Dickinson. Following high school, he met and married his high school sweetheart, Mary Lupo on May 7, 1956 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. They were blessed with four children, Doug, Debbie, Suzie and Bobbi, who they proudly raised together.

The family moved to Watford City for a short time and later moved back to their lifetime home in Dickinson. Mary and Eddie enjoyed time together dancing, playing cards (especially pinochle), and bowling. Eddie worked as an electrician in the oil field then started working for Electric Sales and Service in 1949 until 1964. Then he went to work in the power plants near Beulah, and then on to paper mills in Wisconsin until his retirement in 1992. Then he went to work for AAA Reconditioning delivering pizza dough rollers all over the country. He then returned to work for Electric Sales and Service, part time, during his retirement years.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Eagle’s Club and St. Anthony’s Club, and IBEW. Eddie was blessed with many musical talents, which included playing the accordion, piano, harmonica, trumpet and clarinet. He loved wood working and making memorable gifts for family and friends, dancing the polka, listening to old time music, watching Molly B Polka Party, and doing puzzles. He also enjoyed following his sports teams, the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Twins. Eddie’s greatest joys came from spending time with his family.
