Eileen Pfau crossed over to God’s loving care on Friday, April 26, 2019 after a year long fight with leukemia. Eileen’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2019 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson with Msgr. Thomas Richter presiding. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. There will be a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m., Thursday with Deacon Leonard Krebs presiding.
She was born in Dickinson, on August 12, 1939, to Michael and Rose (Vogel) Wock. Eileen married James Pfau on July 6, 1960 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson.
She did many things in her life beyond being a loving wife and mother, some of the highlights include receiving her Real Estate and Real Estate Brokers license and running a real estate and insurance business. She made many friends in her life. She was the Director of Community Services. She volunteered for Easter Seals and Hospice in Dickinson, donating time and energy where ever someone needed help.
Her Christian faith was at the heart of her life. She was a powerful intercessor and spent much time praying for others. She cherished each one of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed helping others, painting, reading, sewing, volunteering, gardening, building things, belonging to the Red Hat Society and much more. She will always be remembered as having a truly kind, generous heart and strong Christian faith by those who knew her. Her beautiful blue eyes now look upon the glory of God, for surely, He has welcomed her into the Kingdom of Heaven.
She is survived by her four children, Craig (Susan) Pfau, Grand Forks, Jeffery Pfau, Minnetonka, Minn., Colleen Pfau, Mandan and Bradley Pfau, Kirkland, Wash.; four grandchildren, Shayn (Amanda) and Clinton Mitchell and Jaydan and Michael Bergenheier; five great-grandchildren, Colten, Shayla, Skylar, Myles and Watson; five sisters, Polly Berger and Jean Schmidt, Dickinson, Regina (George) Schmidt, Belfield, Wilfreda (Herauf) Rafferty, Oregon City, Ore., and Bernadette Rose, Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, Wallace (Ginger) Wock, Dickinson, and Mike (Harriette) Wock, Stillwater, Minn., sister-in-law, Isabella Wock, Butte, Mont.; brothers-in-law, Don Wanner, Clinton, Mont., and Doug (Carol) Pfau, Dickinson.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Pfau; her parents, Michael and Rose Wock; brothers, Willard and Nick Wock; sisters, Viola (Obritsch) Woehl and Genevieve (Jan) Wanner; brothers-in-law, Andy Obritsch, Val Berger, Alec Herauf, Ben Woehl and John Schmidt; and sister-in-law Betty (Willard) Wock.
