Elaine B. Muth, 60, South Heart, ND, died Monday, April 7, 2008 with her family at her side at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, ND following a two year struggle with cancer. Elaine’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am, Friday, April 11, 2008 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, South Heart with Fr. Shannon Lucht as celebrant. Interment will take place on Monday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be from 1 pm to 9 pm, Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary led by Deacon Tony Wanner and vigil with Fr. Shannon presiding at 7 pm, Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Elaine B. Meduna was born January 21, 1948 in Dickinson, the daughter of Louie and Martha (Rambousek) Meduna. She was raised and educated in South Heart, graduating from South Heart High School in 1966.
Elaine married Robert L. Muth on May 6, 1967 in Hamilton, NY where he was stationed in the service. They moved to Tacoma, WA in 1968 where Elaine began her career in banking. She and Robert returned to North Dakota settling in South Heart and Elaine continued in banking, most recently as a loan officer for Kirkwood Bank and Trust. Due to health reasons she retired in the summer of 2006.
Elaine loved the outdoors, working in the garden, flower beds, doing yard work and reading. Over the years she developed an interest in various different crafts. Elaine especially cherished the time that was spent with her children and grandchildren.
Elaine is survived by five children, Chad (Stacey) Muth, Bismarck, Kim (Shawn) Berger, Dickinson, Kris Muth, West Fargo, Carey (Lacey) Muth, Dickinson, and Brandon Muth, Dickinson; her mother, Martha Meduna, Dickinson; four grandchildren, Myranda Muth, Nathan Muth, Jaren Berger and Jada Berger; one brother, Gary (Barb) Meduna, South Heart; her father-in-law, Dominick Muth, Dickinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on January 29, 2004; her father; sister, Darlene; infant son, Corey; and mother-in-law, Clementine Muth.
