Eleanor Barth, 90, Dickinson, died Sunday, July 5, 2015 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Rev. Allen Wagner will officiate on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. MT, along with her husband John Barth who died on January 27, 2015, a united committal service at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, with military honors provided by the Bismarck VFW Post.

Eleanora Erna Helm was born December 10, 1924 at Dodge, the daughter of Jacob and Henrietta (Kind) Helm. She was raised and educated in the Dodge and Zap area, graduating from Zap High School in 1943. Eleanor went on to attend Capital Commercial College in Bismarck, earning her degree in 1946. She lived in Hettinger where she worked in the office of District Judge J.O. Wigen. Eleanor moved to Bismarck to work as secretary to Otto Krueger, Commissioner of Insurance at the State Capital.

It was on the elevator at the Capital where Eleanor met the love of her life, John Barth. The two were united in marriage on John’s birthday, April 14, 1948 in Bismarck. John and Eleanor moved to Dickinson in 1959 where they owned and operated John Barth Plumbing and Heating.

Eleanor was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and daughter. Following the birth of their daughters, she devoted her time taking care of them and also her own mother.

Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Sandra Botteicher, Dickinson, and Pamela (Darwin) Becker, Dickinson; four grandchildren, Jason (Tremaine) Badinger, Amy (Jorge) Guzman, Aric (Mendi) Graff, and Alexandra Botteicher; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; her stepdad, Max Trusskey; and one sister.
