Eleanor L. Ott, 92, Belfield, died Friday, April 12, 2013 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Eleanor’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belfield, with Fr. William Ruelle as the celebrant. Interment will take place at the St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the church with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m.

Eleanor L. Reis was born July 20, 1920 the daughter of Peter and Magdalena (Martian) Reis. She was born one of triplets with her sister, Leona and brother Tom on the family farm northwest of Dickinson. In 1922 the family moved to a farm northeast of Belfield and then later to a farm north of Fryburg, where she grew up and attended Martian Country School, graduating from the 8th Grade.

Eleanor was united in marriage to Casper Ott of Belfield on May 28, 1946 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. They farmed north of Belfield until moving in to Belfield in 1982. After Casper’s death on July 3, 2004, she stayed in Belfield until January of 2010 when she moved into the Evergreen in Dickinson. She later moved to St. Benedict’s Health Center in February 2013.

Eleanor was a gifted seamstress and creator of perfectly made crocheted doilies. She enjoyed quilting, making crafts, baking, especially making the best sour cream twists, and gardening using her own prepared seeds. She belonged to the St. Bernard’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal.

Eleanor is survived by four children, Dale (Sue Johnson) Ott, Romance, Ark., Charles (Doreen) Ott, Belfield, Loretta Hamilton, Modesto, Calif., and Allan (Joan) Ott, Dickinson; seven grandchildren, James Ott, Michael (Desiree) Ott, Pat (Jennie) Ott, Angela Ott, Darin (Jennifer) Ott, Amanda (fiance Christopher Kessel), and Brian Ott; seven great-grandchildren, Sydney Ott, Colton Ott, Ella Ott, Abbigail Ott, Luke Ott, Olivia Ott and Ariel Ott; and her sister, Catherine Klein, Dickinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Casper; daughter, Carol Ott; grandson, Corey Ott; son-in-law, Bob Hamilton; triplet sister, Leona on April 4, 2013; triplet brother, Tom on August 22, 2002; and her other seven sisters and five brothers.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Evergreen at 2143 6th Ave. West, Dickinson, or to Heartland Hospice at 30 7th St. West, Dickinson, ND 58601
