Eleanor Zent, 93, Dickinson, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Eleanor’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m., Monday, June 17, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton with Fr. Thomas Wordekemper, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Bob Zent presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Eleanor was born November 11, 1925 to Peter J. and Monica (Eckroth) Aman. She lived in Richardton most of her life. Eleanor married Mike Zent on November 27, 1945. Following their marriage, in addition to raising a family, she went to work as a cook at various establishments such as St. Mary’s Grade School, Richardton Public School and Elder Care. Eleanor and Mike had nine children whom they raised in Richardton.
Eleanor was a member of Christian Mothers for more than 70 years. She was also involved with the American Legion Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors of America, VFW Auxiliary and RSVP. Besides cooking, Eleanor enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.
Eleanor is survived by eight children, Kenny Zent, Fargo, Jane Vetter, Bismarck, Joyce (Brent) Scott, Clearfield, Utah, Carol (Ernest) Jordan, Mott, Michael (Mary) Zent, Ticonderoga, N.Y., Kathy Weber, Clearmont, Fla., Greg Zent, Williston and Shelly (Scott) Mai, Des Lacs; three brothers, Leo (Betty) Aman, Richardton, Clarence Aman, Idaho, Richard (Pat) Aman, Fenton, Mo.; three sisters, Frances Boespflug, Baker, Mont., Florence Staudinger, Mott, Clarice Kostelecky, Burien, Wash.; 28 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Mike; daughter, Bev Wanner; granddaughter Pam McGuire; son-in-law, Ralph Vetter; parents; three brothers; and three siblings at a young age.
