Elizabeth Plotzki, 94, Dodge, died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. Elizabeth’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Halliday, with Fr. Darnis Selvanayakam, MSFX as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Martin’s Cemetery, Dodge. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. There will be a rosary & vigil at 6 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding.

Elizabeth Krenzel was born March 3, 1915 on the family farm south of Halliday in the St. Martin area. She was the daughter of Florian and Mary (Messman) Krenzel. Elizabeth received her education at the Big Flat School south of Halliday.

Elizabeth married Christ Plotzki in October of 1935 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church. They farmed from 1935 to 1943 north of Werner and in the spring of 1943 moved to a farm south of Dodge. The Plotzki’s made their home here, and Elizabeth continued to live on the farm up to the time of her death. Her husband Christ died on July 12, 1998.

Elizabeth was a very kind hearted person and a devoted, loving and concerned mother. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking and crocheting.

Elizabeth is survived by two children, Mary Senger, Dickinson, and Isidore Plotzki, Dodge; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, and all of her siblings, Helen Schwindt, Monica Klee, Eva Schroeder, Steven Krenzel, Anton Krenzel and Florian Krenzel.
