Elmer M. Krebs, 88, Dickinson, died Saturday, May 8, 2021 at St. Benedict’s Health Center Dickinson. Elmer’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 13, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Keith Streifel as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Leonard Krebs presiding.

Elmer M. Krebs was born November 23, 1932 at New England, the son of Anton and Rosie (Schmidt) Krebs. He was raised and educated in the New England area. Elmer was married to Mary Burger on October 6, 1953 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Lefor and to this union 11 children were born. He was a dairy farmer throughout his life. They moved to Dickinson in 1987 where he worked part-time at the golf course.

Elmer was united in marriage to Lydia (Schwindt) Frank on November 25, 1994 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Eagles Club. Elmer enjoyed salvaging cars, traveling and playing cards.

Elmer is survived by his wife, Lydia; children, David (Deb), Elmer Jr. (Georgianne), Donald (Gail), Daniel (Deb), George, Kathleen Winch, Mary (Tim) Iverson, Rose (Art Carlson) Krebs, Donna Bren, Marlene (Steve) Forster, and Jeanne (Tim) Hatzenbuhler; step-children, Floyd (Beth) Frank, Clarence (Yvonn) Frank, Tim Frank and Kathy (Dave) Praus; 19 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Anton (Em) Krebs, Violet Dobitz, Sister Rose Marie, Sister Rose Anthony, and Sister Rosaleen; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Krebs.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary, on January 5, 1993; siblings, John, Nick, Joseph, Adam, Susan, and Elizabeth; granddaughters, Rachel Krebs and MaryAnn Krebs; sons-in-law, Vince Bren and Kenneth Winch.
