Elsie C. Haag, 73, Dickinson, died Monday, October 26, 2009 at her home. Elsie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2009 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Todd Kreitinger as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m.
Elsie C. Kostelecky was born November 3, 1935 at Dickinson, the daughter of Joseph and Christine (Pavlish) Kostelecky. She was raised and educated in Dickinson.
Elsie married Richard “Dick” Haag on July 27, 1955 in Dickinson. The Haag’s lived in Dickinson except for a period of eight years when they had lived in Billings, Mont. Elsie enjoyed gardening, camping and fishing, playing poker and watching western movies. Her greatest joys came from spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Elsie is survived by three children, Jeff (Deb) Haag, Spirit Lake, Idaho, Kris (Farley) Sorkness, Dickinson, and Jon (fiancée-Melissa Ewoniuk) Haag, Dickinson; seven grandchildren, Kim (Jim) Hill, Aaron Sorkness, Shane Haag, Nicole (special friend, Eric Keller) Sorkness, Shawnda (Jimmy) House, Sierra Haag, and Jayden Ewoniuk; six great-grandchildren, Hope Hill, Alysa Hill, Sophie Hill, Trinity Hill, Nathan Hill and Dominic Mudd; one sister, Millie Dukart, Billings; and two brothers, Eddie (Angie) Kostelecky, Dickinson, and George (Mary) Kostelecky, Mandan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, on March 11, 2003; her parents; two brothers, Charlie and Albert; one sister, Martha; and an infant son, Michael.
