Elsie (Hutzenbiler) Kilzer, 85, Dickinson, died Friday December 19, 2014 at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Elsie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belfield, with Fr. William Ruelle as the celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service and at the church from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to services.

Elsie Kooren was born April 29, 1929 in Dickinson, the daughter of Ray and Anna (Splichal) Kooren. She was raised and educated in the South Heart area, her first eight grades at Zeneth, and 9th and 10th grade in South Heart.

Elsie was united in marriage to Joseph Hutzenbiler on November 18, 1946 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Gaylord. Following 40 years of marriage and eight children, Joe died on July 15, 1987. She moved from the family farm south of Belfield in 1992. On September 14, 1992 she married Bernard Kilzer of Richardton, and his death occurred on December 7, 1993. She was presently residing at the St. Luke’s Home.

She belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America, St. Bernard’s Guild and later St. Wenceslaus Guild. She loved to grow flowers, gardening, embroidery, fishing, playing guitar, spending time with family and going to the grandchildren’s activities.

Elsie is survived by seven children, Carlotta (Gary) Hecker, Billings, Mont., Alice (Tom) Stoppleworth, Belfield, Gail (Dean) Storlie, Scranton, Daniel (Susie) Hutzenbiler, Belfield, Scott (Patty) Hutzenbiler, Belfield, David (Shellie) Hutzenbiler, Snohomish, Wash., and Lori (Tom) Hlebechuk, Belfield; 25 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Lillian Dvorak, Dickinson, Ida Olheiser, Dickinson, and Cornelius (Kathy) Kooren, Fargo; brother-in-law, Louie Hutzenbiler, Anaconda, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husbands, she was also preceded in death by daughter, Sharon at the age of seven; granddaughter, Sheri Rodakowski; and brothers-in-law, Laudie Dvorak and Pete Olheiser.
