Emil Rambousek, 86, Dickinson, died Monday, October 3, 2011 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Emil’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, New Hradec, with Abbot Brian Wangler, OSB as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Dickinson Honors Team. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Wednesday at Ladbury Funeral Service, with Deacon Ron Wolberg presiding.

Emil was born on February 7, 1925 at the family farm in Dunn County to Wenzel and Julia (Luptak) Rambousek. Emil received his elementary education from Newcastle School District. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1945.

Emil married Beatrice Sadowsky on October 1, 1947 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Hradec. To this union seven children were born. Together they farmed and ranched until 1989 when they retired and moved to Dickinson. Emil enjoyed raising horses, fishing, hunting, and playing cards. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Workman.

Emil is survived by his wife Beatrice; his seven children, Patricia (Julius) Wangler, Grafton, Karen (Arnold) Zelinsky, Dickinson, Rita (Alan) Staloch, Minnewaukan, Marlin (June) Rambousek, Dickinson, Carmen (Lynette) Rambousek, Dickinson, Myron (Sandra O’Connor) Rambousek, Gladstone, and Tess (Rick) Haugen, Dickinson; four sisters, Mildred Polensky, Martha Meduna, Amy Dvorak and Elsie (Leonard) Dvorak; 14 grandchildren, Julian (Julie Lowe) Wangler, Melissa (Nathan) Gordon, Tashiana Wangler, Andrea Zelinsky, Rachelle (Mark) Williams, Shawna (Lance) Ottmar, Amanda (Matthew) Sagsveen, CJ Staloch, Tyler (Catherine) Staloch, Lance Rambousek, Lynae (Kody) Harper, Courtney, Dane, and Trey Haugen; and 12 great-grandchildren. Emil was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Steffan; one infant brother, Louie; and brothers-in-law; William Steffan, Adolph Polensky, Louie Meduna, and Richard Dvorak.
