Emma Rose Berger, 92, Dickinson, died Thursday, February 26, 2015 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Emma’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a..m., Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Dallas Carlson presiding.

Emma Rose Kostelecky was born August 22, 1922, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Kostelecky) Kostelecky. She was raised and educated in the Dickinson and South Heart area, attending school at the Ash Coulee School.

Emma was united in marriage to Philip S. Dukart on February 10, 1947 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She did housework in the area, along with working at St. Benedict’s Home in housekeeping and at the Congress Inn. She then went to work for Woolworth’s, where she spent 20 years in the cafeteria, retiring in 1989. She was united in marriage to Frank X. Berger on June 11, 1977 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

She loved to travel, go to the casino, and the lake cabin. She belonged to the German/Hungarian Club, St. Anthony’s, and for some time at the Eagles.

Emma is survived by two children, Carol (Ted) Doe, Washburn, and Randy (Becky) Dukart, Alamo; three step-children, Gerry (Ernie) Harnett, Sun City, Ariz., Donna (Tom) Dukart, Dickinson, and Diane (Roger) Heidt, Sioux Falls, S.D.; four grandchildren, Curt (Andrea) Kuntz, Laura Fajardo, Craig (Deanne) Kuntz, and Danielle (Chad) Struckness; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Josephine Lee, Spokane, Wash., Ted (Eleanor) Kostelecky, Billings, Mont., Martha (Bob) Giesek, Laurel, Mont., Elsie (Tom) Frenzel, Stockton, Calif., and Dorothy Rider, Laurel, Mont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip on September 28, 1964; her husband, Frank on January 4, 2001; her parents; brother, Robert Kostelecky; and sister, Mary Bongiani.
