Eric Kvasager January 3, 1977 - June 7, 2025

Date of Funeral

Wednesday, June 18, 2025

Eric Kvasager, 48, Dickinson, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, June 7, 2025 in Jamestown. Eric’s Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at the First Congregational-UCC, Dickinson with Pastor Janel Kolar officiating.

Eric Ole Kvasager was born January 3, 1977 in Prince Frederick, MD to Roger and Rebecca (King) Kvasager. Eric was the oldest of three children. Close in age to his brother, Curt, he would often tell stories of the mischief they would get into. Ten years later, his sister, Brittany was born. Eric took his job as big brother seriously.

Eric attended Cleveland State University where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He graduated with his BS degree in Electrical Engineering. While in college Eric joined the SCA, the Society for Creative Anachronism. He took the persona of Olafr Grimolfsson, a Fierce Viking Warrior. He continued his love for the SCA after moving to Bismarck where he became squired to a knight and one day hoped to be one.

Eric worked for Killdeer Mountain Manufacturing where he held many different positions at both plants in his nearly 15-year tenure. In December 2013, Eric met Dianna, and it was a whirlwind romance, and he proposed at a SCA event and by the following December they were wed and anxiously awaiting the birth of their first child. Kiera Lynn was born May 29, 2015. She was the apple of his eye and definitely was daddy’s girl. Dianna often joined Eric at SCA events and Kiera attended her first one at just five months old. Twenty-two months later they welcomed Evan Owen on March 22, 2017. Eric insisted that their second child share his initials. Evan’s face always lit up whenever his daddy was around, and Eric’s heart was full.

Eric often told Dianna his children were his whole world! He was an amazing daddy and Dianna often teased him about being a helicopter parent. He is greatly missed by his entire family.

Eric is survived by his wife, Dianna (Bartling) Kvasager; his children, Evan and Kiera; brother, Curt and Melissa (Lege) Kvasager, and their children, Austin and Addison, Cranberry Township, PA; sister, Brittany (Kvasager) and Louis Vann, Ohio; father, Roger Kvasager, Strongsville, Ohio; mother, Rebecca King and Dan Mattern, Bismarck; and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his cousin, Skylar Syrup.
