Estrella Eva Huber (Tudi), 83, New Salem, died Sunday, September 22, at Sanford Medical Center, Bismarck, as a result of complications of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD). Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., MDT at New Leipzig Baptist Church, New Leipzig, ND. Interment will follow Baptist Cemetery, New Leipzig.
‘Tudi’ was born October 4, 1929 at Bentley to Gottlieb and Emily (Rieger) Huber. She attended grade school at Bentley and graduated from high school through the NDSU Department of Supervised Study.
Estrella was known by her friends and family for her loving generosity and compassion. She was caregiver for her mother while she battled cancer for eight years. Then in 1991 she assisted with the household of her brother Charlie when his wife, Della, was diagnosed with liver cancer. In 2001, multiple myloma struck Charlie and she once again provided her health care skills as he fought his cancer. In 2003, she moved to New Salem where she lived until the time of her death.
Estrella accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized in water as a teenager.
In 1980, she reacted to medication for her COPD which caused extensive hearing loss. At the time of her death she was almost completely deaf.
Estrella is survived by one sister, Marcy (Curtis) Donner, New Salem; six nephews Russell Pahl, Reginald Pahl, Ryan Huber, Gregg Huber, Jesse Donner and David Donner an one niece, Donnel Pahl Huber.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Elmer Pahl, her sister Betty and one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Della Huber.
