Eugene Friesz, 60, Dickinson, ND died Friday, December 7, 2007 at his home following a long struggle with lung cancer to be with his Heavenly Father. Eugene’s funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2007 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Rev. Jerry Sevier officiating. Interment will follow at the Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday at Ladbury Funeral Service with a prayer service at 5 p.m.. Visitation will continue from 8 a.m. to service time on Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Eugene Friesz was born January 11, 1947 to Edward and Lillian (Pastian) Friesz north of New Leipzig, ND. He helped on the family farm and later graduated from New Leipzig High School in 1965.
Eugene was united in marriage to Jeraldine “Jerri” Kitzan on September 10, 1966 at the United Brethren Church, Hebron, ND. Together they had and raised three children. He worked for the city of Dickinson for 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. Eugene was involved in his church and it’s members, having been a charter member and deacon of the Freedom Baptist Fellowship.
Eugene is survived by his wife Jeraldine “Jerri”; two sons, Brian (Vickie), Whitehall, MT, and Darren, Dickinson; one daughter, Lori, Dickinson; two grandchildren, Shane and Samantha, Whitehall, MT; one brother, Clifford (Marlys), Mandan, ND; six sisters, Leah Jeromchek, Mandan, Lorraine (Pete) Kuchenski, Dickinson, Gladys (Ervin) Wutzke, Elgin, ND, Betty (Roy) Claus, Billings, MT, Edna Stevenson, Birmingham, AL, and Cherry Honrath, Mandan; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ben; grandson, Tyler; brother-in-law, Jim Jeromchek; mother-in-law, Irene Kitzan; and a sister-in-law, Vesta McLaughlin.
