Eugene Gerald Blum, 66, of Dickinson, died Monday, October 11, 2021 surrounded by his family. Eugene’s Funeral Service will be at 5 p.m., Friday, October 15, 2021 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Pastor Janel Kolar as officiant. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Gene grew up in Anamoose with his siblings Barb Meuller and Janice Kreps. He married Tammie Kay Wetch. They welcomed four children, Lacie Jean Blum (42), Jeremy Lee Blum (40), Brandon Eugene Blum (36) and Heidi Jo Blum (34).
Gene made his living doing various woodworking and construction work. After living in various locations he settled in Dickinson in 2000. Gene enjoyed being outside, tinkering in his shop, gardening and he really enjoyed preparing GIANT meals for all his family and friends. The kitchen was one of his most favorite places to be. He was a master of banana bread and pumpkin pies.
He enjoyed attending anything related to car shows, races, mud volleyball, and anything else that the family participated in. He was a major fan of WWE.
Gene is survived by his companion, Lois Whittet; ex-wife Tammie Anderson; children, Lacie Blum, Jeremy Blum, Brandon (Heather) Blum, Heidi Jo Blum and Christine (fiancé, Kalton Likely) Turner; and grandchildren, Codie Cahoon, Ceaira Blum, Brianna Hunteman, Anika Aberle, Quentin Blum, Keeley Blum, Corbin Blum, Hazel Blum, Kaden Nadeau, Kylie Nadeau Kiana Swindling and Jozlynn Turner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and June Blum; and many in-laws.
