Eva Weiler, 89, Dickinson, joined other family members in Heaven when she died Friday, February 26, 2010 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Eva’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Charles Heidt as the celebrant. Interment will take place in the Spring at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m., Tuesday at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding.
Eva was the oldest of nine children of John and Celestine (Olheiser) Kuntz, born September 10, 1920 in Schefield, where she was also raised and educated. On October 26, 1943 she married Peter Weiler at St. Pius Catholic Church, Schefield, and to this union six children were born.
Mom enjoyed being with family and friends, playing cards, bingo, planting and taking care of flowers was a great joy to her. She volunteered thousands of hours at St. Benedict’s prior to becoming a resident there. Eva had the distinction of being “volunteer of the year”. She was a good mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be missed very much by all who knew her.
Eva is survived by four children, Arcadia Roll, Bismarck, Geraldine (Kenneth) Grinsteinner, Bismarck, Vernon (Vera) Weiler, Dickinson, Kenneth (Jeanette) Weiler, Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Tina Marie Roll, Todd (Kari) Roll, Tracy (Ken) Zeeb, Kari (David) Rohrich and Derrick Weiler; step-granddaughter, Kristy Petty; her great-grandchildren, Sarah Corine Roll, Kayla Grinsteinner, Joseph Grinsteinner, McKenna Rohrich and Gracie Weiler; step-great-grandson, Bryton Petty; one great, great-grandson, Ayden Grinsteinner; three brothers, Adam (Rose) Kuntz, Belfield, Leo J. (Mildred) Kuntz, Dickinson, and Peter J. Kuntz, Dickinson; two sisters, Shirley Guenther, Minot and Rosie (Gene) Fitterer, New England; and three sisters-in-law, Magdalen Kuntz, Betty Kuntz and Beverly Kuntz all of Dickinson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Marvin; infant daughter, Jeanette; son-in-law, Francis Roll; and three brothers, Fred, Henry and Markus Kuntz.
