Evangeline “Angie” Stockert, 80, Dickinson, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Angie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, July 19, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant and assisted by Deacon Ralph Stockert. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a Catholic Daughters rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding.
Evangeline P. Frank was born May 30, 1933 in Dickinson, the daughter of Sebastian and Barbara (Wock) Frank. She grew up on the family farm north of South Heart. She attended a country grade school. She accomplished her GED and Nursing Degree while raising her children and working full-time. She found her love of her life, Valentine Stockert, they married on September 5, 1951. They raised nine children in Dickinson. While raising their children, Angie worked various jobs which included bartending, retail, crop adjuster and most importantly working with her husband running Val’s Sanitation, until both retired and then they started Val’s Tree Farm.
Angie loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She looked forward to Sunday morning gatherings with her daughters, and visits by her sons. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening and playing cards and meeting friends for coffee and we can’t forget about BINGO.
Angie was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Anthony Club, Elks Club, K of C Club, Eagles Club and Catholic Daughters-Homemakers.
Angie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Valentine Stockert of Dickinson, their eight children, Lillian (Doug) Homstad, Bismarck, Valery (Deb) Stockert, Dickinson, Lyle (Diane) Stockert, Dickinson, Larry (Linda) Stockert, Great Falls, Mont., Vivian (Dan Caylor) Klein, Dickinson, Virginia (Dave) Sticka, Dickinson, Alvin (Tammy) Stockert, Dickinson, and Julian (Don) Gerber, Dickinson; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Clementine (Jerome) Schwindt; three sisters-in-law, Carol Frank, South Heart, Lydia (Elmer) Krebs, Dickinson and Agnes Frank, Belfield.
She is was preceded in death by her parents, Sebastian and Barbara Frank; one son, Gary Stockert; three brothers, Ralph, Ted and Gabe Frank; and one granddaughter, Jennifer (Homstad) Barrera.
