Faye E. Oster, 84, Dickinson, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Faye’s funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Rev. Steve Schou officiating. Interment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Thursday from 8 a.m. to service time at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Faye Elaine Bahm was born December 4, 1926, in Mandan, the daughter of Henry and Hulda (Amundson) Bahm. Faye attended country school near Flasher and Beauty College in Mandan. On November 18, 1957 she married Richard Oster in Flasher. Richard and Faye lived in Hazen, Hebron, Flasher and Halliday. After their health was failing they moved to Hilltop in Killdeer until Richard’s death. Faye moved to St. Luke’s Home where she lived till her passing.

Faye enjoyed the activities at the nursing homes. She would save her quarters she won at bingo to give to her grandson. She made many crocheted afghans and babysat for the neighbors at Halliday. She would always have baked goods for coffee when you would come to visit. Faye would like to go to Lake Ilo with the nursing home and watch Derek fish. She made phone calls to help Cheryl find a Pomeranian dog, “Molly”.

Faye was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Our Saviors Lutheran Church, and the Resident Council at both nursing homes.

Faye is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn (Jim) Huschka, Dickinson, and Cheryl Oster, Fargo; one grandson, Derek; three step-grandchildren, Cynthia, Chris and Carrie; 12 step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Willard (Donna) Bahm, Mandan, and Charles Bahm, New Salem; two sisters, Jean (Joe) Urness, Mandan, and Sharon Johnson, Bismarck; a sister-in-law, Arlene Bahm, Shields; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard on July 18, 1999; her parents; a brother, Glen; a brother-in-law, Gerald Johnson; and a sister-in-law, Ione Bahm.
