Florence Rose Schuch was born on June 4, 1927 in rural Gladstone to George and Magdalena (Bleth) Schuch. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Richardton. After graduation, she attended business school in Bismarck and then worked for an attorney. She later returned to Gladstone and married the love of her life, Walt Bogner on June 28, 1948 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Gladstone. They were blessed with eight children, David, Jon, Brian, Nancy, Paul, Mary, Barb and Steve.
In 1948, Walt and Florence opened Bogner Appliance located in downtown Dickinson selling and servicing appliances. The store remained an integral part of their lives for nearly 70 years. Florence assisted with the bookkeeping and sales until her passing.
She was a member of Queen of Peace Parish from its beginning in 1975. She became a Eucharistic Minister for the Parish and was involved in numerous church and school activities. She was a member of Catholic Daughters, Christian Mothers and Right to Life. She volunteered much of her time in community activities as well. Florence enjoyed playing Bridge, Lancer’s Dance Club and going out with their group of friends.
Florence touched many lives through their business and church. She was the strength and glue that held the family together and always taught by example. As we celebrate the time we had together, we will find the treasures, remembrance and comfort of believing that life is indeed a gift from God to hold our memories forever.

She lived her life by these words: “Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.” ~ Mother Theresa ~
